If you’re like me, in the past you will have made New Years Resolutions on January 1st, only to find that, by about the 14th at the latest you’ve broken them! I know that I was like this for years; with the best will in the world I could not keep to a resolution for more than a few days at the most.
Then, as I grew and began working on myself, I discovered that 99% of the ability to reach a goal is supplied by our mindset, and that part of our brain cannot process negatives – it just “hears” the positive part.

On my journey through life I slowly discovered that most successful people keep a journal of some description. At first I didn’t notice and, once I did, I couldn’t figure out why.
But really, it’s simple and it has to do with the difference between successful people, and everyone else. Successful people use journals because it helps them to remember things. Some small things that can make a few pennies difference here and there, and the bigger, life-changing stuff. It all goes into their journal. Succesful people are also happy to share their knowledge with the rest of us and journal notes help to recall the information and can act as a legacy after we’re gone. Where would we be today without the tremendous legacy of Leonardo da Vinci’s journals?

So, yesterday we heard the sad news that Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Computer, and later Apple Inc had passed away.
I know there will be lots of controversy over whether his various products are good or bad, that’s not what this blog post is about. I’d like you to consider the man himself and what he achieved: I consider Steve Jobs to be a mastermind of our age, on a par with one of my great engineering heroes, Lord Armstrong.

Of course, the answer is “YES” because everything we have, everything we’ve experienced is the result of what we alone have manifested into our lives.
That’s a really hard lesson to learn, because it encompasses everything, the good and the bad, Start by accepting who you are and what you have. Be grateful for ALL of it and don’t beat yourself up over the mistakes or the bad stuff, but rather commit to a plan to learn from them and resolve to achieve a different outcome next time.

It’s a fairly simple question, but if you ask it of most marketers you’re likely to get an answer that leaves the prospective client confused.
Why? Because the answer isn’t specific enough. Many marketers offer a range of goods or services and the prospective client is either confused by the options or doesnt get enough specific info to know that this product or service is for them. I know that feeling, ive seen it countless times myself.
So how do we fix this? Thankfully that question is pretty easy to answer; focus!

I think it was George Herbert who said “Do not wait; the time will never be “just right.” Start where you stand, and work with whatever tools you may have at your command, and better tools will be found as you go along.”
Of course, for most of my life I didn’t believe him. I was the master procrastinator, always putting off things I could have found time to do and even making “easier” things a priority over the hard stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I was always busy, I never had a spare moment; my time was fully filled, all day every day.
